Besides educating us on Roman cuisine, he provided entertaining insight into the history and customs of the city making for a very memorable evening. And then there is the food! Excellent tour with informed local guide. Eric took us around Testaccio showing us the best places to sample authentic Italian dishes whilst explaining the historic value of the area. Brilliant guide in Kate who was very knowledgeable and had a lovely engaging style. She was very detailed of the history and the process of each meal. From dinning underground in Rome's ancient city to how to spot authentic gelato! The tour was so organic in the way we all interacted... My husband and I did 2 tours with the company: Twilight of Trastevere and Taste of Testaccio. It's the best way to discover Rome and escape the tourist trap. If you have to pick one, I would go for Twilight of Trastevere. The Trastervere neighbourhood was awesome. The food and history behind each shop was amazing and I would highly suggest the tour - especially with Domenico. We took the Twilight Trastevere tour on April 6, and had a great time. Gianluca, our guide, was funny and enthusiastic and took us on a whirlwind trip of this trendy Roman neighborhood. Even the downpour couldn't dampen our spirits. We got to try out a wide variety of specialties, some of it at restaurants like Da Enzo that are... The Twilight Trastevere food tour was brilliant. Our guide Anna was fantastic and very enthusiastic. Anna provided us with lots of interesting history about the food we were eating and the places we visited. The food was amazing and I could not recommend this tour enough.
