Current wine list price - £265.00 For the month of April, I wanted to offer one of my favourite wines from one Napa Valley’s finest and most famous AVA: Oakville “Truly great wines are a result of place, season and know-how”. Here is one of the Rudd estate’s motto, believing that wines is made in the vineyard rather than in the winery. Founded by Leslie and Susan Rudd, the estate produces today four different wines, two reds and two whites. The 2009 vintage is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Cabernet Franc and 9% of each Malbec and Petit Verdot. The wine has then been age in new French oak.

The vineyards are located on the eastern part on the Napa Valley by the Vacca mountain range. Being warmer than the western ridge, the wines tend to have deeper and broader texture and flavours. The very volcanic soil however confers the wines a beautifully fresh minerality bringing a fantastic balance. The 2009 vintage shows very well and develops notes of ripe blackberry, blueberry and cassis with a touch of dry violet. The oak ageing gives it a silky texture as well has aromas of cedar wood, black tea and chocolate. The finish is long and almost mouth watering due to its rocky minerality. This unique wine pairs amazingly well with our Lamb course. It is not fitted on elements on which the internal air recycling system would be ineffective due to their specific function.
