Four Portuguese wines featured in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Each year, Wine Spectator editors survey the wines reviewed over the previous 12 months and select our Top 100, based on quality, value, availability and excitement. This annual list honors successful wineries, regions and vintages around the world. This year, Quinta de Cabriz Dão 2014, Real Companhia Velha Douro Evel Red 2014, CARM Douro Reserva 2012 and Lemos & van Zeller Douro Quinta Vale D. Maria 2013 are the Portuguese wines honored to be featured in this list. The magazine also releases a "Top 100 Values" list, which highlights wines under $20 that have scored 88 points or higher. Quinta de Cabriz Dão White 2015, Casa Ferreirinha Douro White Planalto Reserva 2015 and Herdade do Esporão Alentejo Monte Velho White 2015 are featured in the "Rich Whites" category, comprised of wines with “rich, lush flavors," and Casa de Santar Dão 2014 is featured in the "Big Reds" category, comprised of wines with “flavor, concentration, depth and power.”
