These awards offer our British Columbia wine industry the opportunity to have their wines judged by 9 of the most respected wine judges from across North America. Winners will be awarded medals of excellence and will be recognized in a comprehensive public relations and sales campaign organized by the Okanagan Wine Festivals. Our 9 eminent judges this year include the following: Sebastien Le Goff, Vancouver Ben Macphee Sigurdson, Winnipeg For the first time, we are also pleased to announce that Sally Campa has accepted our invitation to be our Apprentice Judge for the British Columbia Wine Awards. Sally is from Vancouver and is the GM for Vino Volo. With the success of the revised medal structure in 2014, we are excited to once again present Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum medals and the Premier's Wine Award. Derived from the Gold medal winning wines, the Platinum medal wines have been distinguished as the top 1% of wines entered.

Of those Platinum winning wines, based on consensus of all judges, one will be chosen as the best wine of the awards and be named the Premier's Wine. The Premier's Wine will be presented by our Premier. All awards will be handed out at the British Columbia Wine Awards Reception & Tasting on Wednesday, October 1st from 7pm-9:30pm at the Laurel Heritage Packinghouse in Kelowna. This is a public event. or call 250 717-5304. Oldest and largest British Columbia Wine Competition. Open to all licensed British Columbia wineries and recognizes a wide variety of wine styles. Nine professionally recognized judges from our key wine markets across North America and one apprentice judge. Process is first class ensuring competitive integrity, with well-established wine judges, conducted blind, and sufficient time allotted for proper discussion and consensus. , the leading BC Wine Tourism website and distributed electronically through various media channels to our extensive consumer, trade and media database.

Results will be published in BC newspapers including: Okanagan Sunday, Kamloops Daily News, Business in Vancouver, Victoria Times Columnist and other community newspapers in B.C. A full-colour gloss British Columbia Wine Awards guide will be distributed to over 100,000 wine drinkers and buyers, announcing the 2015 British Columbia Wine Awards, complete with bottle shots and listing the medal winners. All VQA Wine Stores and over 600 LRS locations will receive the results. Locally designed medals that will be awarded to each winner to be used by winners for display at their winery. British Columbia Wine Awards bottle label designs will be made available to all winners. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY Wineries are members in good standing of the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society (OWFS) or wineries based in British Columbia. Wineries that have not joined and paid their memberships are able to register online for the British Columbia Wine Awards at the non member fee.

The wine is labeled and bottled and has a UPC. Table wines have an inventory of 50 cases at time of entry and 5 cases at time of the start of the Fall Okanagan Wine Festival on October 1st, 2015. Specialty wines have an inventory of 25 cases at time of entry & 2 cases at time of the start of the Fall Okanagan Wine Festival on October 1st, 2015. Wine must be made from 100% BC grown grapes, or 100% BC grown fruit. There are no restrictions on the vintage that a winery can enter. If a wine entered has been awarded a gold medal in a previous British Columbia Wine Awards competition, that particular vintage may not be entered again into this competition. FEES AND ENTRY DEADLINES The British Columbia Wine Awards for 2014 will be held from September 17th - 20th at the Okanagan College Sensory Centre before the start of the Fall Okanagan Wine Festival. Four (4) bottles plus an entry fee of $89.00 + GST per wine entered must accompany each wine entered if you are a winery that is a member of the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society.

If you are a non member winery, the entry fee per bottle is only $99.00 + GST. No entries will be allowed without full payment. The deadline for entries is SEPTEMBER 7th, 2015 LOCATION AND DEADLINE FOR WINE DELIVERY **NOTE: DELIVERY CHANGES Four (4) bottles of each wine entered must be delivered to ContainerWorld's Kelowna warehouse 333 Penno Road, Kelowna, BC, V1X YW5 between Tuesday, September 1st and Friday, September 11th. Once entered, please contact ContainerWorld at 250-491-9316 to confirm your wine delivery date. Every entry must be boxed and labeled on at least two sides "British Columbia Wine Awards".
