Our expectations were exceeded! Mathew, our guide, was very knowledgable about wine, the winemakers, the vineyards etc. Two things stood out. First, we were able to help harvest the grapes at Valli, one of the top... Matt was a great guide, he shared a wealth of knowledge and took time to plan the afternoon based on the groups tastes.

Multiple wines to try and lunch was great too! Definitely a good day trip to try out. We had a wonderful day with Matthew our driver and guide. We decided on the paparazzi tour as we wanted a more scenic route. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. It was a wonderful day. Matthew was very knowledgeable and explained about the wineries and their history. The wine sampled was excellent too. We are big wine fans (pinot noir in particular), so were greatly looking forward to a wine tour in Central Otago. We were lucky enough to have Jake as our guide. He is a former winemaker, and thus has genuine enthusiasm for the winemaking process. He also has a huge amount of knowledge about grapes and the region overall (including... If you love wine, and our fond of fine Pinot Noir then this is the tour for you. First, you will be guided by Jake who is an encyclopedia of wine. We did two days for wine tasting with Matthew while on holiday in area. What a great decision and great two days. These were not typical wine tastings. The days included meeting multiple wine makers and owners. At one stop, we went into owner's home and tasted her wine. Lunches were included both days. Enjoyed Wild Earth more than Mt... Matt was a great guide and seems to know darn near everything about the region's wines and winemakers, and we learned a ton about wine as well as of course sampling quite a bit of it. Really appreciated he chance to meet and taste the wines of some smaller boutique winemakers in the region who were intensely interesting as well... We went on the Degustation Tour. This included stops at 3 wineries and a 4th for lunch. (It is usually 4 wineries but one was closed on the day we went. Received small discount because of this). The lunch consisted of 5 small dishes that were paired with 5 different wines. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Our wine tour with Jake was great.
