Farmed to Demeter Biodynamic discipline, from the original blocks dating back to 1990, it is a blend of Hedges Estate and Magdalena parcels, both under family control. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon displays true expression of Red Mountain terroir and tells the “story of the season” with each unique vintage. Demeter Biodynamic allows no herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fungicides to be used in farming the land, nor any commercial yeasts to be present during fermentation. There is a commonality in authentic wines such as La Haute Cuvée-they are intellectually provoking and wild, created under the laws of nature. Grown on a 15 acre vineyard, named Les Gosses, this wine displays the greatest qualities of low yield farming. A single vineyard, small production Syrah from the Bel Villa vineyard near the top of Red Mountain. Sauvignon Blanc, dominant, with small amounts of Chardonnay and Marsanne. A blended white with Sauvignon Blanc dominating over 75% of the wine, this was one of the original malic-acid friendly white wines released from Washington State.

Rounding out the blend is a touch of chardonnay accompanied by just a pinch of Marsanne. Beautifully structured with wonderful Sauvignon Blanc fruit character, the mouth feel has a delicate balance of acid angularity and defined herbal sophistication. CMS Red, Washington State's original blended red wine, has been produced and bottled by the estate since 1987. Consistently recognized as one of the best values in Washington State, CMS Red combines elegance and historic blending practices with top quality vineyard sources in the Columbia Valley. A style consistent with classic northern latitude wine growing, the CMS Red is known for a more Columbia Valley AVA regionally driven style, giving way to purity and structure over modernity. House of Independent Producers Chardonnay The House of Independent Producers (HIP) Chardonnay is as close to a Chablis style white as you can find on the west coast. The wine sees no oak, and is a true definition of terroir winemaking, highlighting the beautiful vineyards of Sagemoor Farms, specifically the Dionysus Vineyard.

HIP is a project directed by Christophe Hedges, bringing to the table some of the more compelling Columbia Valley AVA vineyard sites. House of Independent Producers Cabernet Sauvignon The House of Independent Producers (HIP) Cabernet Sauvignon reminds the drinker why cabernet sauvignon is a structure varietal. A lean, angular, racy, penetrating, and crystalline structure is excellent for those drinkers looking for a more conservative fruit approach. Too many times this grape is abused with oak perfume and picked late, like an old man: wrinkled, soft, and complacent. Take your cabernet sauvignon young, tight, and transparent and leave the jam bombs for your sugar drinking friends. It's time to taste the varietal, not the brand. 20% Granache Columbia Valley rosé.
