Since 2011 Original Gravity has been providing Richmond area residents with the ingredients and supplies they need to make beer and wine at home. We are passionate about home brewing and we love to share that passion with our customers. Whether you are just getting started and need help getting pointed in the right direction or you are a seasoned home brewer looking to upgrade your equipment, we’ve got you covered. Founder, Tony Ammendolia got his start in home brewing back in 1993 when he and his roommate went in together on a brewing kit.

Within a month or two they had seven batches under their belt and decided to have a homebrew party for all of their friends. They made labels, tasting notes, and set an order in which to try the beers. Who knows if the beer was any good?!? It was fun and he was hooked. In 2011 Tony opened Original Gravity and quickly became the premier source for home brewing supplies in Virginia. In 2014 we moved a few doors down to 6118 Lakeside Avenue and expanded the shop to include an even larger selection of beer and wine making supplies including, starter kits, equipment ranging from beginner to advanced, a Grain Room to house our extensive selection of brewing grains, more hops, more yeast, and a brand new on-site brewery. In 2015 we opened Final Gravity Brewing Co. in the same location as Original Gravity, so don’t forget to bring a growler to take some beer home with you, or enjoy a glass while you shop! At original Gravity we pride ourselves on providing an extensive selection of beer and wine making supplies at prices that are competitive with online retailers, in a brick and mortar store.
