We are planning to purchase some wine and a bottle of liquor to take on a cruise with us. We won't be flying in until late Saturday night, leaving only Sunday morning for shopping. Is it possible to buy wine and liquor on Sundays? (I ask because I grew up in Pennsylvania, where the State controls the sale of alcohol. Until a few years ago, liquor stores were not open on Sundays.) And on a related note, can these items be purchased at grocery stores or drug stores? Or does one need to make a special trip to a liquor store? Any and all help on the subject is appreciated :) There are some local ordinances, and some places do not sell on Sunday morning. A lot of grocery stores have a liquor store attached (not a "state store"). Groceries sell wine and beer. State of Florida prohibits sales of beer/wine/liquor from 3am to 7am. IN the City of Tampa, you cannot purchase beer/wine/liquor on Sundays from 3am to 11am. There are liquor stores, convenicence stores(7-11) and also grocery stores that can carry beer and wines.

Only "liquor" stores can carry liquor, and some are attached to grovery stores. You might also want to check with your cruise line.
