In 2010, we were named Newcomer of the Year by Decanter magazine. The bar area is a mixture of high seating and banquettes seating upwards of 40 people, with plenty more space to stand. It’s a friendly and interactive environment to sample some top wines along with tapas-style bar snacks.
The restaurant is comfortable and relaxed, and seats another 36. The British and European food focuses on quality ingredients, well sourced, cooked without excessive fuss, and with a modern twist on much-loved classics. WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES US THE WINE ROOMS? We love wine, and all that’s enjoyable around wine: good food, good friends, good conversation. We take particular pride in our selection of 150 bins, and in presenting you with an extensive range of 40 wines by the glass. We encourage you to sample those armed with a pre-paid card, with or without help from our wine specialists. We also stock a cracking selection of sparkling and sweet wines, beers and spirits. Food is there to make the wines even more enjoyable! Try some British cheeses or Spanish meats with your choice of wine, or go along with the wine matches on our main menu. We have lunchtime specials at £10 for a main course and a coffee, and a brunch menu at weekends. We also hold regular wine classes to help you find your way around.
And if you like our wines, they are all available at take-out prices for home consumption. WINES SHOULD REFLECT THEIR ORIGINS We think wines should reflect their origin: where the grapes are grown, and who has made the wine. We take great care in selecting our wines, and in keeping the selection fresh and interesting. We have wines from the world’s most renowned estates, as well as exciting boutique winemakers,. Whether it’s an entry-level wine at £3.00 a glass or a Bordeaux first growth for £65 a glass, we always try to ensure that the wines we show reflect their respective ‘terroirs’. Talking of provenance, our beers are brewed in Greenwich, and the Gin and Vodka is distilled in a little street in Hammersmith’s Brackenbury village. We take the same care when we choose our food suppliers; we want great food (think perfectly aged Scottish beef, Gressingham Duck or acorn-fed Spanish Jamon) to go with great wines.
