The fun bit - create your Gift List The first decision to make is to decide what type of wines you want on your list. The most popular type of list we offer is a selection of wines, fine wines and Champagne with the intention of enjoying their gifts on future anniversaries or special occasions, but the choice is entirely yours. Alternatively, some couples set up their Gift List with the wines they've chosen to drink on the day. This can be a great way for guests to contribute to the costs of the big day. The Majestic website is at your side to give you an idea of what we have to offer, but we strongly recommend a visit to your local Majestic store to discuss your list and personal requirements. Our expert staff can offer advice and recommendations to help you put together a wine list that will be unique and special to you. We recommend choosing between 10-15 wines at mixed prices so that your guests have a varied list to choose from. Once you have finalised your wine list we then set up your own individual web page that lists your wines and explains how your guests can buy a gift from the list (see this example).

Your guests can leave a personal gift message wihen ordering. We'll close your list either shortly before your wedding day (if you want the wines for the wedding itself) or shortly afterwards if you you prefer. You can prearrange a specific date and time that you want your wines delivered, or arrange this when you return from your honeymoon. We will also send you a full list of your wines detailing who bought you the gift and the personal message they left for you. When should I start planning my list? Give your guests plenty of time to choose and buy a gift: start at least six weeks before the wedding. The ideal time is about three months before the big day but may be sooner if you wish to send out a full list with the invitation.

We ask you to visit the store and select your gifts where you can take advantage of our store teams' expert advice. At this stage you will also be asked to select a maximum amount for each wine that you wish to receive. Once your guests have decided which wine they would like to purchase they can call the customer service team quoting your names as their reference. How does the Wedding List Service work? How do I add products to my wedding list? How do we ensure that guests do not all purchase the same wine? How do we inform our guests? How can guests find our Wedding List page? What if we would like to have wines which Winedirect.co.uk does not list? How much is delivery? Are the wines gift wrapped or packaged in presentation boxes? On the Wedding Services page click on 'Register Wedding'. If you are a new customer to winedirect.co.uk then we ask you to first register as a customer. Once you have done this you will be prompted to set up your Wedding List page. Entering the full names of the Wedding Couple or Party Hosts. Entering details of wedding/party date and venue. Entering an introductory paragraph about your wedding which will display on your Wedding list page. Finally please click on the Wine List Closed/Open button and change to Open. Once you have successfully set up a wedding list, a new button will be added on each detailed product page - 'Add to Wedding'.

Just browse the shop as you normally would but click 'Add to Wedding' instead of 'Add to Cart'. You will have decided have many cases of a particular wine you want. Let’s say you have selected 2 cases of Penfolds Bin 28. Your list will show that 2 cases are available to purchase. Once these have been purchased then your list will show the wine but display 'Unavailable' and so the guests will have to purchase an alternative. Of course you can inform them via your own invitations etc. However we have built an email notification function into our Wedding List service. You can enter a message, your guest email addresses and send a notification. Guests can find the Wedding Services page via the homepage. They simply enter one of the names of the Wedding Couple or Hosts in the 'Wedding Services page search box" and will be taken to your Wedding List page. Please do notify the guests accordingly. Once you have selected wines that we do list, then write to us and we will do our best to source the wines at competitive prices.

We will then add them to our webshop so that you can select them for your list. Delivery is free for wedding items if sent in bulk to the venue or to your home up to one month after the wedding. We can also store wines for you and deliver wines as and when you specify. Storage for the first month is free and is then charged at £1.00 per case per month thereafter. After the first month delivery will also be charged as per the current rates prevailing on the website. The choice here is really yours and please do let us know if you would like the wine delivered in normal wine cases or in presentation boxes with gift wrapping. If, for example, a small selection of wines are to be delivered to the venue then guests can select from our range of gift presentation cases and purchase accordingly. If however you select a larger number of wines and we deliver them to your home or store them for some time then you will probably prefer them to arrive in standard wine cartons. Either way it is a good idea to inform your guests of your preference.
